Despite Wolfsburg boss, Dieter Hecking, claiming that the German club haven’t received any bids for Julian Draxler, PSG are still reportedly interested.
The rumour continues to swirl and now that the reports linking the 22-year-old to Arsenal have died down, you’d expect, if the Ligue 1 club are interested, this is where they pounce. However, after Wolfsburg’s sporting director, Klaus Allofs, confirmed Draxler’s €75m release clause comes into affect next summer, you’d expect all clubs to hold off until then. That’s right, even Real Madrid.
However, according to reports coming out of Italy, PSG want to borrow Draxler on loan, presumably until next summer when they can buy him outright, depending on how he gets on.
It’s a clever way to get around the release clause issue but I doubt Wolfsburg will play ball. They need him right now and they wouldn’t have gone to all the trouble they have to keep him at the club if they were just going to hand him over to PSG at the first flash of cash.
Or will they?
