Galatasaray’s sporting director, Levent Nazifoglu, has confirmed that the Turkish club have made a £12m bid for Manchester City’s Jason Denayer.

The centre-back was linked with a move to Arsenal back in July but nothing seemed to come from the rumour. Now, Gala have confirmed not only an interest in Denayer, who used to play for the Turkish club when he was younger, but that they’ve made a bid of £12m.

“Denayer settled in well last season and we want him back but it all now depends on what he says and what Manchester City decide,” Nazifoglu said.

“We want him and so does the manager and City know this.”

The 21-year-old isn’t one of City’s big names and, therefore, Pep Guardiola will probably let him go, although if he was selling to Arsenal that price would be brought up by quite a bit since we’re rivals.

What’s more is apparently the Belgium international is eager to leave in order to get regular first team football since he’s yet to break into City’s first team.

What does this mean for Arsenal?

We’re not getting him, even though the same report claims Gala face ‘competition’ from Arsenal to sign him. Although it was unlikely in the first place considering we now need senior centre-backs, we’re definitely not now. He’ll most likely sign for Gala this summer.
