Arsenal are reportedly planning a deadline day swoop for Lyon forward, Rachid Ghezzal.

The 24-year-old recently refused to sign with Everton because they couldn’t offer European football and is also reportedly saying no to a new contract with his current Ligue 1 club.

The Algeria international is yet to make an appearance this season and last term only featured 29 times in the French League. However, despite hardly any of these being starts, he still managed to score eight goals and assist the same amount, which isn’t too bad.

According to France Football, we’re only lining up a cheeky move for Ghezzal if we can’t find any better candidates. Quite how they know what Arsenal will do in just over a week’s time is anyone’s guess as they don’t even know what Arsenal are doing tomorrow.

It seems likely, just as with many players this summer, he’ll sign a new contract with Lyon, though. Him and his people are probably just playing hardball over his wages and if we’ve learned anything this summer, linking yourself Arsenal gets you a nice big payrise.

West Ham are also said to be interested.
