Denilson looks like he could be on his way from Al Wahda as they ship him out to make room for a ‘mystery signing’ in the next few days.

The former Arsenal man, who is now 28 and still known for playing the most sideways passes in the history of football, signed for the Abu Dhabi side just last summer but it seems as if they have already grown tired of him and are ready to let him go.

Scoring just two goals during his time there – the highlight coming against Al Shabab in April’s Arabian Gulf Cup final when Al Wahda lifted the trophy for the first time – first team manager, Abdulbaset Al Hammadi, confirmed at the weekend that Denilson will be the only foreign player to leave the club.

“We are expecting the new player to sign in two or three days, then we will have a complete team,” said Al Hammadi. “He will be a replacement for Denilson.”

Denilson’s contract runs until 2018 and it has not yet been decided if he will be sold or sent on loan.
