As is the norm lately, there wasn’t much around in the way of actual news on Monday but the rumour mill wound itself up into overdrive.
We woke up to some pretty heart-breaking scenes as Asuno said goodbye to his former club to come to north London (it’s alright mate, we’re not that bad). He’s actually been doing pretty well sing we confirmed we’ve signed him.
We then did a little digging into the story that we’ve made an increased bid for Lacazette.
Former Arsenal man and pass-master Denilson is set to be released from his current club, Al Wahda (lol). Off he goes, to bore another fanbase senseless.
Brazilian target, Gabigol, has apparently hinted that he’s played his last game for Santos, which we covered in our youth round-up.
Arsenal Ladies beat Chelsea 2-1 on Sunday, putting them just a couple of points behind and scoring a couple of blinding goals in the process. You can read our full match report here and all other Arsenal Ladies news here.
Wales moved up the FIFA rankings 15 places to 11th in the world, and we’re pretty sure this is 99.99% down to Aaron Ramsey; Seaman said we need a striker (really?!!); the MLS All-Stars confirmed their squad to face us in pre-season would contain our nemesis, Drogba, and Napoli stood firm on Higuain’s price.
Meanwhile, Freddie Ljungberg spoke about pre-season and Joel Campbell confirmed he’s staying at Arsenal.
In terms of gossip, Roma want to keep Manolas but he had a training ground fight and we want a 19-year-old winger from the Bundesliga (story of our lives, eh?). We also gave detailed updates on both Higuain and Mahrez.
Finally, it looks as if Arsenal have finally agreed a deal to sign Bolton’s Rob Holding. He’s even had a medical already.
