Roma have reportedly given Arsenal 48 hours to agree to a deal for Wojciech Szczesny or they will look elsewhere, according to a report in today’s Gazetta dello Sport.

This transfer has been rumbling since before the end of the season with Woj stating at various times that he both knows where his future lies and doesn’t.

There have been a number of reported sticking points, although it’s hard to know how much truth there is to any of them. The most recent has, apparently, been Arsenal’s reluctance to just accept what Roma want to pay and quit being difficult.

Reports still claim that Arsenal are trying to include a compulsory option to purchase at the end of another loan spell, but I’m not to sure that is the case.

GdS claim that Woj wants to return to Roma and you can’t really blame him. He enjoyed a good season, was playing regularly, and seemed to mature (somewhat) as a player.

Hopefully it is all sorted out in the next 48 hours because it’s boring as hell.
