Watford midfielder, Valon Behrami, has sung his Swiss compatriot, Granit Xhaka’s praises.
The 31-year-old, who has played alongside Xhaka for five years, said that he would be a fantastic addition to the team and also revealed that he will help him settle in to the Premier League, considering our training grounds are so close together.
“Everybody needs time and he will need time as well, but he is a great player,” Behrami said to ESPN FC.
“He’s a top player and he’s going to go to play in a team which is good for his quality because he likes to play the ball and he’s quite technical.
“And he can do both sides. He can win the ball and he’s got good tackling skills.
“I think he’s a great signing for Arsenal and for him as well it’s a great move.”
“The training grounds are close so I’m going to help him with what he needs to settle down and I think he’s going to have a great season in the Premier League.”
Behrami isn’t the first Switzerland international to heap praise onto our new signing. Former Gunner, Johan Djourou also complimented the midfielder’s passing ability, and said that although he may need time to bed in, he could be brilliant in the English League.
Xhaka has already been one of the highlights of the Euros so far this summer. He routinely completes the most passes per match and his ability to dictate play effortlessly is brilliant to watch. Every time he plays, my Twitter timeline is chock-a-block with people hailing our new signing and I promise only about 90% of it is me.
