Roma are reportedly closing in on a deal for another season-long loan for Wojciech Szczesny, according to Dimarzio.

The goalkeeper has enjoyed his time at the Serie A club and has made his feelings on staying clear. Although he wouldn’t mind coming back to north London, he knows that he’d still be playing second fiddle to Petr Cech, who we signed from Chelsea last year.

If the 25-year-old stays in Italy and continues to play every match, this will be fantastic for his progress and, hopefully, he will return to us ready to fight for a first team place.

The Poland international has a huge amount of potential, all he needed was to grow and learn, which he readily admits. When he returns, he can learn from Petr but until then, getting first hand experience is obviously the best for him right now.
