N’Golo Kante has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal this summer despite his current team, Leicester City winning the Premier League.

According to the Mirror, the Foxes are becoming increasingly anxious that the midfielder could indeed be led down south to north London. The 25-year-old’s release clause is said to be in the region of £20m, which numerous outlets have claimed we’re willing to offer. However, until now, Leicester have remained confident that Kante will stay, following his successful season.

Kante himself, however, hasn’t been quite as confident and, despite his team winning the League, he’ll most likely know this might not last forever. Long term, the Gunners could be the better option. To play alongside the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez would be a dream come true for most footballers and the opportunity might be too good to pass up. Especially as he’s French.

Kante was a huge part of Leicester’s Premier League winning squad, featuring 33 times, making, on average, 4.7 tackles per match, 4.2 interceptions and 1.5 clearances. The best in the Premier League. If he joined Arsenal, I’ve no doubt that he could be a decent signing, even if he isn’t exactly what we need.
