Throughout Wednesday reports have emerged linking Arsenal with a move for Leicester City’s N’Golo Kanté; the latest suggestions that we are interested in the midfielder are from the most reliable source yet.

After suggestions that a transfer could be done were thrown around by L’Equipe and Le Parisien overnight on Tuesday.

Kanté reportedly has a release clause and it’s little surprise that Arsenal, who are often criticised for their strength in midfield, are being linked with one of the Premier League’s leading midfielders from this season.

Now RMC have joined those reporting a deal could be on the cards, going as far as saying that Arsène Wenger has already met with Kanté’s representatives on a number of occasions, making him a priority for the upcoming transfer window.

Arsenal are considering a deal but want to know whether or not Kanté is keen before activating a release clause of €25m (just under £20m).

It would be pretty embarrassing to bid for him only to have him reject a move to north London but, with others also said to be interested, that’s a distinct possibility.

Kanté is said to be keen on staying in England and has supposedly made PSG aware of that despite their interest. Other than the option of staying at Leicester, offers from Chelsea and Manchester City could be on the horizon.

With that in mind, this story doesn’t look like one that will go away anytime soon.
