Arsenal target, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, has reportedly turned down a new contract with Borussia Dortmund with his current one set to run out in 2017.
Mkhitaryan has been linked with us before but this time, considering the success the goal machine’s had this season in the Bundesliga, the circumstances are a little different. In fact, the Armenian is currently one of the most sort after players in Europe right now. Just this season alone, he’s scored 23 goals and assisted 32 – yes – thirty-two.
The Evening Standard is currently reporting that the Armenian media are claiming that Mkhitaryan has turned down a new contract with Dortmund. While the Express has said that the £24m man is currently house-hunting in London.
Unfortunately, as a linchpin in Thomas Tuchel’s side, who finished 10 points behind Bundesliga winners, Bayern Munich, it’s unlikely that they’ll let the attacker go. He’s clearly world class and world class players don’t just switch clubs that easily. Would he be a great signing for us? Of course – he’d be an unreal signing. But will it happen? No.
