With Arsenal enjoying a fairly successful season so far, Arsène Wenger’s contract has been a topic of discussion.
It seems the Pep Guardiola will be heading to Manchester City and, with 18 months left on his current deal, that could have Wenger thinking about extending his Arsenal stay.
The boss has been in charge since September 1996 but is showing no signs of slowing down. The recent influx of youth talent is set to be added to by the addition of Nigerian u17 World Cup winners Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze, so is Wenger planning for a new youth project? Rumours last week suggested he could be as a new contract extension was mentioned, but he denied those reports on Friday morning.
Wenger says no talks yet on if he will extend #afc contract. Says he doesn’t envisage managing anywhere else “and I won’t run for FIFA!”

If his last couple of contract extensions are anything to go by, the boss won’t talk about a new deal until the end of the season at the earliest. Even then he could wait another year until his current contract is almost up.
Right now, no matter what you think about Wenger, it’s hard to see an obvious replacement available. The Arsenal boss is likely to stay on but, clearly, we’re not close to anything official at the minute.
