West Ham have completed the signing of Alex Song on another season long-loan, beating out alleged interest from Totteham who were said to be trying to sign the former Arsenal midfielder.
Song spent last season on loan with the Hammers after his position in the Barcelona pecking order became clear. Initially he had hoped that he would be able to land a return to Arsenal but, along with Cesc Fabregas who was also looking to return to London from Barcelona last summer, Arsene Wenger was not interested.
Linked with a return to West Ham all summer, the move seemed to have died and it was at that point Spurs were said to be interested in giving him a way out of Spain but it is West Ham who have, eventually, concluded the deal.
Song will wear the number four shirt and will still have one year left on his Barcelona deal when this current loan spell ends.
