Arsenal fans unveiled a ‘Refugees Welcome’ banner outside of the Emirates Stadium before the club’s 2-0 win against Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.
The club had already pledged to donate £1 from every ticket sold to Save the Children‘s appeal to help children involved in the refugee situation which is making headlines all over Europe and fans showed their support with the banner before the game.

Banners like that one have been seen at a lot of Bundesliga games in the past and Arsenal are leading the way in the boardroom, helped by existing ties with the Save the Children charity, for which the Gunners have raised almost £400,000 in recent years. The club are at the forefront of providing support for refugees as far as English clubs are concerned and it’s fantastic to see.
Arsenal fan Jeremy Corbyn was elected leader of the Labour Party earlier on Saturday and joined a Solidarity with Refugees march in London in the afternoon.
