Despite numerous conflicting reports recently, Karim Benzema’s agent has confirmed that the forward will not be leaving Real Madrid.

Karim Djaziri, the player’s agent, has confirmed what most Arsenal fans were already suspecting: Benzema will not be coming to north London. At least not this summer, anyway.

“Karim is very happy at Real Madrid and he will be a Real Madrid player by the end of this transfer window, 1,000 per cent,” the agent said. “Karim is not looking to move anywhere this summer.”

The transfer saga itself is a little strange because the only noise surrounding the move seems to be coming from the press. However, the press have been extremely dedicated to informing us that the Frenchman will be playing under Arsene Wenger this season.

Although wild speculation is the norm during silly season, it’s odd that the reports between the clubs and the media are so conflicting for such a long period of time. It’s been the transfer story that won’t go away and many journalists have staked their reputations on the fact that they’re positive the striker is on his way to Arsenal.

At this point, we just need to take his agent’s word for it. If something happens, it happens, but I don’t see it.
