After Emile Smith Rowe’s first attempt at playing regular senior football has been heavily disrupted by injuries, the feeling is that he’s set for another temporary transfer next season.

German outlet Kicker (via GGFN) report that RB Leipzig are interested in re-signing Smith Rowe for another season, and they want to include a purchase option in the deal. However, Football.London write that Arsenal won’t consider any loan offers with options to buy.

The English outlet confirm Kicker’s information that Smith Rowe has impressed RB Leipzig despite his injuries, but the Bundesliga side aren’t the only ones who have expressed an interest in him. Other Premier League sides are considering a move, and even Arsenal might simply consider keeping him to have a shot in the first team.

The advantage of a second loan to Leipzig is that Julian Nagelsmann is taking over as head coach for next season. Reiss Nelson and former Gunner Serge Gnabry have both spoken positively about their time working under Nagelsmann, and how he helped them develop, so perhaps Smith Rowe could benefit similarly.

For now, let’s just hope the 18-year-old gets a couple more appearances before the end of the campaign.
