David Ospina has agreed personal terms with Besiktas over a summer move, according to reports in Colombia, but Sevilla and Napoli still aren’t out of the picture just yet.

Colombian journalist Esteban Jaramillo, who Ospina follows on Twitter, says the goalkeeper has given his word to Besiktas pending his official signature. It’s the club the 29-year-old is most interested in, ahead of Sevilla and Napoli, and for now his ‘destiny is the Turkish team’.

With nothing officially signed though, this could all still change.

There’s no doubt that Sevilla and Napoli are top clubs, but perhaps the fear is that Ospina wouldn’t have as much guarantee of a starting spot with them. Napoli, for example, already signed goalkeeper Alex Meret this summer.

Meret then broke his arm, reopening the door for Ospina to join. However, he knows that in a few months time Napoli’s first choice signing will return, and he could well end up in exactly the same position as he was in with Arsenal in recent years.

Regardless, it certainly seems like Ospina is on the way out. With Bernd Leno joining and Petr Cech seemingly set to stick around, someone has to make way. Hopefully after his generally positive World Cup campaign, the Colombian can get the move he wants.
