Nadiem Amiri’s agent says his client is happy in Hoffenheim, despite links to a transfer to the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Amiri reportedly has a release clause of just £15m in his current contract in Germany, drawing interest from a number of top Premier League clubs as a result. The player’s agent and brother, Nauwid, told the local media he doesn’t expect a summer move though.

“He (Nadiem) feels very comfortable here, they are the club of his youth, where he became a professional,” Nauwid told Bild. “He also has a coach in Julian Nagelsmann who has been with him for three and a half years and with whom he worked in the youth ranks.”

The attacking midfielder’s contract currently lasts until 2020, so you’d expect either a move or an extension in the next year or so. For now, it looks like he’s planning to stay with his current club.

Amiri didn’t have the most prolific campaign, scoring four goals and assisting three in 33 appearances. Despite often playing as an attacking midfielder, he actually contributed more defensively, and his finishing was wayward at times.

Perhaps staying at Hoffenheim for another year and focusing on his development would be the best thing for him, rather than ramping up the pressure by moving to one of Europe’s top clubs.

Considering the club are playing Champions League football next season, he might not want to move to Arsenal just yet anyway. We’ll see how things pan out.
