A number of media outlets are reporting this morning that Arsene Wenger will do the sensible thing and opt for Petr Cech against CSKA Moscow rather than his cup keeper David Ospina.

The Colombian came into the side on Sunday for the game against Stoke as Cech struggled with a groin injury.

Cech has now returned to full training and has been passed fit for the game on Thursday night.

Normally, that wouldn’t matter.

Wenger gave his word to Ospina at the start of the season that he would be the cup keeper and that would usually be that.

But reports in the Irish Independent, Daily Mail, Telegraph, and Express all claim that Wenger is going to drop Ospina and opt for Cech:

Normally you can discount what is in the Express but the Mail, despite their reputation generally, can be quite reliable for Arsenal news while the Telegraph is consistently the most reliable with Arsenal information. The Irish Independent’s report is from Jeremy Wilson, the same as the Telegraph.
