Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has the best conversion rate in the Premier League this season, according to WhoScored.

Arsenal’s January signing has made a fantastic start to life in the Premier League, scoring six times and assisting twice in eight games.

We already knew from his time in Dortmund that Aubameyang scored a lot of goals, but it’s clear now he’s just as clinical in England.

So how does that conversion rate compare to the other first-choice big-six strikers?

6. Alvaro Morata

15.1% conversion rate

5. Harry Kane

15.2% conversion rate

4. Romelu Lukaku

18.1% conversion rate

3. Roberto Firmino

19.5% conversion rate

2. Sergio Aguero

22.3% conversion rate

1. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

30.0% conversion rate

For the record, since he’s the league’s current top scorer, I should probably include Mohamed Salah as well. His conversion rate is 23.4%, which would put him second on the list.

Combine that with the fact Salah is second only to Harry Kane in terms of number of shots taken, and you can see why he’s having such a great season.

This all looks very promising ahead of next season. There isn’t much for Arsenal to play for domestically right now, but if Aubameyang can keep adding goals and assists he’ll be full of confidence when the next campaign comes around. That means Arsene Wenger can focus on actually fixing the defence, without worrying about forwards.

Let’s hope he can keep it up.
