Arsenal welcomed back Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette to first team training while Gareth Southgate thinks Jack Wilshere will be fit for Stoke and Mohamed Elneny signed a new contract.

They say a change is as good as a rest and the change of having no football for two weeks coming on the back of a couple of wins has certainly upped the mood in Arsenal land.

The news that Aaron Ramsey managed to undergo a small procedure on his groin and return without missing any club football added to the growing sense of well being while Alexandre Lacazette showing up with CSKA Moscow on the horizon is more than a little timely. Hopefully the break will have refreshed his spirits as mush as his limbs.

Mesut Ozil also looks to be fit after missing out on the interlull for Germany.

Jack Wilshere, his World Cup hopes reportedly in tatters according to the Daily Star, should be fit for the visit of Stoke this weekend. That’s according to Gareth Southgate who also thought Jack would be fit to face Italy for England, so perhaps we should take that news with a pinch of salt.

Meanwhile, as everyone obsesses about Arsene Wenger, Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey’s contract, Mohamed Elney signed an extension in the same way he seems to do everything – quietly and without much of a fuss.

Elneny is a handy squad player and I’m glad he’s decided to stick around, extending his contract by two years according to reports. He also seems to genuinely love life as an Arsenal player and his happiness is infectious.

If Arsenal don’t need a good dose of happy, then I don’t know another club that does. For that reason alone his renewal makes sense.

Thankfully, he can also play a bit as well.
