Jack Wilshere says he’ll enjoy his goal against Chelsea when he re-watches at home, and has reiterated his desire to play for Arsenal.

Wilshere started his sixth consecutive Premier League in the 2-2 draw against Chelsea. He scored Arsenal’s opening goal of the game, which was his first league goal for the club since May 2015. The goal clearly meant a lot to him, and is one he plans to admire at home.

“It was a nice feeling, my first thought was the team, we needed to win this game and I thought it was a good goal for the team. Afterwards when we go home I’ll enjoy it a bit more when I watch it again,” he said, as reported by Arsenal.com.

The midfielder has been in impressive form since returning to the starting eleven. He’s still out of contract in the summer, but many feel he’s done enough to earn a new deal. Ray Parlour is one of those.

Ray Parlour has been full of praise for Jack Wilshere this season.

Speaking before the game, he said that Wilshere had become just as important to hold onto as Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil. Wilshere was flattered by the praise, and once again stated that he wants to play for Arsenal.

“It’s nice hear that from Ray, he was a player that I watched when I was younger, a midfielder, and he came through the youth into the team, so it’s good to hear from him,” he said.

“I’ve just got to keep working and take each game as they come I’m happy and I’ve said it before, I just want to be playing games, I missed it so much going out on loan, I just want to be an Arsenal player.”

If nothing else, the 26-year-old is saying all the right things. This recent run of games has been very encouraging for Wilshere, as not only has he performed, he’s also managed to stay fit.

It’s now up to the club to find an agreement with him.
