Arsenal could face yet more competition for Trabzonspor midfielder, Yusuf Yazici, as Manchester City sent a scout to watch him play, according to reports.

Yazici is having a good season for Turkish side Trabzonspor after he made his first team breakthrough last January.

Arsenal have been linked plenty of times with the midfielder, who is also reportedly being tracked by Tottenham.

Now according to Hürriyet, Manchester City could be interested as they sent a scout to watch him play in a 3-0 with over Antalyaspor.

Yazici impressed in that game by setting up the first goal and having a big hand in the third.

Arsenal’s interest was confirmed by the players’ representative, Adem Cebeci.

“Yusuf wants a move to Europe, Dr Erkut Sogut has been in talks with clubs and there is interest from the Premier League, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has watched Yusuf in person,” Cebeci said, as reported by Turkish-Football.

Dr. Erkut Sogut happens to be the agent of Mesut Ozil and Yazici has been likened to the German as a potential replacement for the 29-year-old.

That he shares an agent with Ozil may help Arsenal negotiate a deal for the 20-year-old.

Yazici has two goals and three assists in 14 appearances for Trabzonspor this season.

He made his debut for the Turkey national team last June and currently has four senior caps.
