Hector Bellerin was full of praise for Mesut Ozil following his Man of the Match-winning performance against Spurs on Saturday.

Following Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Tottenham on Saturday, Bellerin spoke about how happy the team is to have Ozil in their side and slammed those who believe that the German doesn’t do anything.

“Mesut is someone who gets a lot of criticism, but the players who are around him are very happy to have him and play with him,” said Bellerin, who had a good match himself. “He makes things easy for you. People sometimes talk about his body language, but he gives everything for this shirt. The players who play around him know that he makes everything so much easier.”

Whenever Ozil’s labeled as lazy by the media, they inevitably bring up his body language. However, by now you would think they would have gotten used to it. He’s been in the Premier League for almost four years and his body language, no matter how he’s performing on the pitch, remains the same.

It’s almost as if the two have no correlation… madness.

Although Ozil’s passing wasn’t as on point as usual against our north London rivals – he only completed 26/32 passes – it was his superb free-kick which led to Shkodran Mustafi’s headed goal in the 36th minute.

The playmaker also put through four key passes – more than anyone else on the pitch – and won two tackles.

Ozil never stopped running and the fact that he had so few passes yet still appeared to do so much speaks volumes. As Bellerin says, he gives everything for the shirt.
