Chelsea want to sign Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez in January in order to keep manager Antonio Conte happy and at the helm, according to latest reports.

Conte was apparently unhappy with Chelsea’s transfer business during the summer transfer window, and the defending champions are keen to prove their commitment to him.

According to the Mirror, the Blues will try and sign Alexis Sanchez in January to ensure that Chelsea can compete for the Premier League.

Alexis will have six months remaining on his contract during the January transfer window, which could put pressure on Arsenal to sell.

However, having gone through all the effort to keep him at the club in the summer transfer window, it seems unlikely that Arsenal will sell in the middle of the season I believe.

Alexis’ sale in the summer was dependent on Arsenal signing a replacement. They were fully prepared to miss out on £60m from Manchester City if they couldn’t get that replacement.

In my opinion, that stance shouldn’t change in the January window.

Unsurprisingly, Alexis is being linked with several clubs, with the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan all said to be interested.

He’ll be able to talk with foreign clubs and sign a pre-contract agreement with them in January.
