While most of the top Premier League sides have been busy throughout the summer transfer window, Arsenal were somewhat left behind regarding big moves.

Arsene Wenger has come under immense pressure once again in the latter stages of his previously successful but now turbulent spell in charge of the north Londoners.

Hopes were high for this new season, but things have already begun to fall apart early on, with poor results and a lack of activity in the transfer market causing a flurry of criticism from fans and pundits.

One big-name player that the Gunners did manage to persuade to come to the Emirates is France international sharpshooter Alexandre Lacazette. The clinical poacher arrived from Ligue 1 outfit Lyon this summer and will be thrust into this campaign as Arsenal’s leading frontman.

Arsenal signed Alexandre Lacazette for a club record fee this summer.

With that in mind, there is huge pressure on the striker’s shoulders, with the capital club having been used to seeing former greats bang in the goals and lead them to success on all fronts. Lacazette’s signing signalled the potential start of a Premier League title challenge, but proceedings haven’t gone exactly according to plan for Wenger and his squad.

Things could yet be turned around, with there only having been a handful of match days so far, and Lacazette could be the man to help them correct their form. The former Lyon attacker was prolific in France’s top-flight division and will look to continue that impressive goalscoring form in the English top tier.

There are a host of free bets by online bookmakers available involving the Premier League, which can be used to back Arsenal to bounce back from their slow start and possibly secure a return to Champions League football with a top four finish.

£50 worth of free bets from Sporting Bet can be obtained and placed on Arsenal or any other odds available on the respective sites. After the typical false start in the opening game, the Gunners have previously started seasons strongly and then tailed off towards the end of proceedings, but could an early struggle actually benefit them in the long haul?

They could swiftly turn things around and eventually begin to challenge the likes of rivals Tottenham, Manchester United, Manchester City, as well as Liverpool and Chelsea. Those teams were a lot more busy in the recent summer transfer window and that could see them progress further throughout the course of the current 2017/18 campaign in England’s elite division.

If a reverse in form and fortunes isn’t achieved, then Wenger may find himself in trouble with the club’s hierarchy in the coming months. The long-standing manager will, therefore, be placing plenty of hope in his recent new acquisition Lacazette. Could the French forward rise to the occasion and help the Gunners to fire back this season?

He has showcased his talents and goalscoring abilities before in France, but England is a different scenario for him. Arsenal have benefited from the likes of Thierry Henry, Robin van Persie and Alexis Sanchez before, but Lacazette could soon become the latest star striker to help them earn success.
