Arsenal fans actually appear pretty pleased to see Mesut Ozil linked with Manchester United.
Ozil has once again divided Arsenal fans after the playmaker was linked with a move to United.
The German’s camp have reportedly put out their ‘feelers’ to the Red Devils and are said to be ‘encouraged’ by the response, which suggests that he could be heading there for free next summer to reunite with former Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho.
Once Gooners got a whiff of the rumour, the reaction was pretty interesting.
There doesn’t appear to be any middle ground when it comes to the 28-year-old. Either fans think he’s lazy and want United to take him away to live out the rest of his days on the bench (their words, not mine) or they love him. I probably don’t need to tell you that I’m in the second camp.
United fans are pretty underwhelmed with the link seeing as they’ve already got Juan Mata, although many seem to be forgetting that the former Chelsea midfielder is also currently in the final year of his contract at United. The general idea is that Ozil would replace him.
Meanwhile, United’s rivals find the rumour funny as Mesut Ozil, World Cup winner and the player Mourinho described as the best no.10 in the world, is just THAT bad…
