Lucas Perez’s agent, Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle, has revealed Arsenal have rejected bids for £9.10m and £10.9m from Deportivo La Coruna.

The player’s representative told La Voz de Galicia via football365 that Arsenal have rejected all offers so far, saying: “It was a more than reasonable offer for a player who Arsenal have devalued. But the club have turned down the offer and so far they have rejected everything.

“Most recently there has been an offer of €10m plus €2m in variables which they didn’t consider and then Depor went up to €12m without variables and again they rejected it.”

Although Lucas Perez has been set to leave the club all summer, and Wenger himself has confirmed that he has opened the door for the player to make his exit, there has still been no agreement with any club for his transfer.

The most heavily linked club has been Deportivo, and the quotes from Lucas’ agent suggest that these links are real, but Arsenal aren’t showing any willingness to do business at the proposed rate.

Admittedly, the bid of €12m, which is roughly £10.9m, is still relatively low for a player like Lucas, especially in the current market. Arsenal spent £17m on him a year ago, in which time the Spaniard still showed good form in the cups and in Europe.

But with the player so clearly wanting out, it’s a lot harder to negotiate a fair fee. Arsenal want more money, perhaps looking to cover the loss made by the lack of Champions League qualification for the current campaign, but Deportivo are so far unwilling to meet their demands.
