The S*n, who claimed correctly that Oxlade-Chamberlain was set to start at Anfield, also believe that Liverpool are ready to offer him a role in central-midfield.

There have been widespread rumours that Oxlade-Chamberlain’s contract negotiations have not been progressing in the last few weeks, with Arsenal reportedly making improved offers up to £180,000 a week, and Ox turning them all down.

The article in The S*n states that Oxlade-Chamberlain would be a starting centre-mid for the Merseyside club, and that they have told him as much in an effort to get him to join them.

They also claimed that Oxlade-Chamberlain will start for Arsenal at Anfield, which has been confirmed, as per the team-sheet just released.

If their rumours about Liverpool’s promises to Ox hold as much weight, then this could go some way to convincing the player that he would be better off leaving North London to join up with Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Ox has previously confirmed that he would like to play in the middle, but he hasn’t always been convincing in this position for the Gunners.

So whether Arsenal would be willing to take the risk of dropping someone like Aaron Ramsey or Granit Xhaka for him, just to keep him happy, is another matter.
