Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp says new loan signing Cohen Bramall “will be involved” in tonight’s League Cup outing.

Cohen officially joined Birmingham City on Monday, August 21, after spending pre-season with the Arsenal first-team.

Harry Redknapp is clearly keen to get Bramall involved from the start, telling the Evening Standard: “Carl [Jenkinson] won’t be involved tomorrow but Cohen [Bramall] will be involved for sure. I’m not sure whether he’ll play but he’ll be involved.”

This is definitely good news for the player and for Arsenal fans. Although loan moves always provide a new experience for young players, one of the most important aspects is actually getting some time on the pitch.

When players aren’t involved from the start it begins to raise question from fans over why they moved in the first place. Marc Bola and Emi Martinez have both made loan moves this season but are yet to make their competitive debuts, after a combined five matches of bench time for the duo.

Although they will hopefully start to be more involved as the season goes on, it’s more comforting to hear that Bramall will be straight into the squad on day one, because this surely means appearances aren’t far behind.

Cohen played 90 minutes of the U23s first match of the season against Derby, providing an assist during a positive performance. With any luck, he’ll carry this form into his first matches with Birmingham.
