Arsenal still retain an interest in 21-year-old Udinese midfielder Jakub Jankto according to reports.

  • Arsenal have been scouting Jankto throughout the season
  • He signed a new deal with Udinese recently

Jankto is believed to be a long-term target for Arsenal, who watched him numerous times throughout the season.

According to reports, Arsenal retain an interest in the Czech despite him recently extending his contract with Udinese until 2021.

There had been reports of him having a release clause of £6m, but this has yet to be confirmed.

A new contract will likely have increased that release clause, especially if Jankto’s performances are attracting interest.

He played 29 times for Udinese last season, scoring five goals and registering four assists.

Arsenal are believed to be looking at central midfielders who could cover for the injured Santi Cazorla.

With the signing of Alexandre Lacazette out of the way, Arsenal may now be free to pursuit other targets.

Jankto could well be one of them.
