Rob Holding and Calum Chambers have been called up to the England U21 squad for this summer’s European Championships.

  • Holding and Chambers will represent England in Poland this summer
  • U21 Euros will run from 16 June to 30 June

This summer’s tournament will take place in Poland between the 16th and 30th of June and there’ll be big pressure on England to have a deep run.

Calum Chambers has been a regular for the U21s after making a handful of appearances for the senior side. He’s played as a right back and centre back under Gareth Southgate and, now, Aidy Boothroyd.

Rob Holding is a newer addition to the squad, having only made his debut in last summer’s Toulon Tournament before he joined Arsenal. His recent form has earned him a call-up for the Euros.

Chambers will likely start as a right back and will want to have a strong tournament ahead of a big pre-season at Arsenal. Holding could have played his way into a starting spot and will want to continue his strong form.

England kick-off the tournament against Sweden on June 16th before playing Poland on the 19th and Bulgaria on the 22nd.

Should England reach the knockout stages, it’s possible that Holding and Chambers could miss Arsenal’s tour of Australia in July so that they can rest.
