Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal has revealed he’s taken to WhatsApp to convince Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez to join him in Germany this summer.

The Chilean international has admitted to wanting Sanchez at the Allianz Arena next season and has been talking with the Arsenal man during their time together for the national team. And when the two players can’t talk face-to-face, the Bayern Munich man says he uses WhatsApp to try and tempt him.

“ I told (Sanchez) it was the opportunity for him to be in a big team. If he wants to compare with the best, he has to go to the best team,”said Vidal, as reported in the Daily Mail. Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez has been a standout performer this season, scoring 24 goals and making 10 assists in 38 Premier League appearances, but was only able to lead the Londoners to fifth place.

He was man-of-the-match as Arsenal won the FA Cup and has been linked with Chelsea, Manchester City and Bayern as a result of his form in 2016/17. With just one year left on his deal at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal may consider cashing in on him this summer or letting him move for free the following season.

Bayern Munich are looking for long-term replacements for ageing wingers Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery and see Sanchez as the ideal replacement. Given the Arsenal man has stalled on contract talks, he may be open to a summer move, especially given the Bundesliga champions are a side who challenge on all fronts, compared to the Gunners enduring a 13-year title drought.
