Thierry Henry believes the idea that Spurs will be happy to finish above Arsenal for the first time since 1995 is pretty childish.

  • Spurs v Arsenal kicks off at 4:30pm
  • Henry featured in 10 North London Derbies for Arsenal (6 wins, 0 losses)
  • Claims Spurs should concentrate on Chelsea
  • Tottenham 4 points off title leaders
  • Both need derby win

The ex-Gunner claimed in his column for the S*n that Tottenham should be aiming for bigger things, like catching Chelsea in the title race, than simply finishing above their ‘neighbours’.

“A Spurs win will guarantee finishing above Arsenal for the first time in donkey’s years,” Henry wrote.

“But that is kindergarten stuff. Who cares? Spurs want to win because they want to close the gap on Chelsea — not finish higher than their neighbours.

“If I was giving the pre-match speech, that wouldn’t even come up. There are bigger things.”

No matter what Henry says, Spurs haven’t finished above the Gunners since 1995. Of course they’re going to gloat, even if the wheels come off during their final four matches. Perhaps this is even the former Invincible having a dig at the Spurs fans who will celebrate.

Arsenal’s best chance of ‘glory’ this season, other than winning the FA Cup, will be to end Spurs’ hopes of clinching the title with a win during the last ever North London Derby at White Hart Lane.

A ground Henry never lost at.
