Rangers midfielder Billy Gilmour is weighing up whether he should remain in Scotland or join Chelsea this summer, according to recent reports.

  • Player is only 15
  • Chelsea offer of £500k accepted by Rangers
  • Player now to make decision over future – new Rangers deal or move
  • Arsenal moved too slowly according to reports

The highly-rated youngster, who turns 16 in June, will make a decision over his future in the coming months.

Rangers have already accepted the Blues’ offer of £500,000 but only because they don’t want to risk losing him for less once he turns 16. There is a stage, under FIFA guidelines, that means there will be a window after his 16th birthday when he can be picked up for just £100,000.

Before he was sacked, Mark Warbuton had the teenager training with the first team and he has already played for the u20s.

“Billy Gilmour is a Rangers player, and I hope very much that he sees a pathway here and works his way through to our first team,” said Warburton at the time.

“Just now he’s 15 and needs to be looked after properly and taken through his development.”

Arsenal were previously linked with Gilmour but reportedly failed to make an offer quickly enough.
