According to the Daily Express, Arsenal are interested in signing Steven N’Zonzi for £25m.
The midfielder currently plays for La Liga side, Sevilla, but is apparently set to leave during this January transfer window for a price of £25m with Manchester City, Chelsea, Juventus and now, reportedly, Arsenal all interested.
The 28-year-old has scored two La Liga goals and assisted one in 14 appearances so far this season and while his contract with Sevilla doesn’t run out until 2019, the Express claims that they’re resigned to the fact that they’re going to lose him soon.
The former Stoke player is obviously well aware of what playing in the Premier League entails since he spent three years with the Potters and before that he was with Blackburn Rovers from 2009 – 2012. So from that point of view he wouldn’t be a bad signing, but considering Arsenal are already pretty well equipped in the central midfield area, I don’t see us suddenly forking out £25m. Let alone in January.
