Much like the rest of us, Arsene Wenger is wondering why on earth he keeps getting asked the same question about Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil during every press conference.
Now that the boss has confirmed that Arsenal are trying to tie both stars down to new contracts, he’s asked about the progress of the negotiations every single press conference.
Most of the time, there are no updates, not that he can reveal, anyway. And more recently, he’s started pointing out how, if he says anything, he weakens the club’s position.
Sure enough, during Wenger’s pre-Manchester City presser, he was asked about what’s going on with Alexis and Ozil’s contracts. Again.
And this time, he told it like it is.
Wenger on Alexis and Ozil: "They have 18 months on their contracts. I don't know why you ask the same questions in every press conference"

It’s true. They have 18 months left, negotiations are underway and he’s hardly going to reveal how much they’re asking for, the terms of said contracts or how far along they are in a presser.
Well said, boss.
