Francis Coquelin claims he would be proud to see out the rest of his career at Arsenal.

When asked about moving on to ‘bigger things’ in an interview with L’Equipe, the midfielder was taken aback, saying that he would be proud to stay in north London forever.

Since joining us from Stade Lavallois in 2008, despite various loan spells at the likes of Charlton Athletic and Lorient, Coq has racked up 121 appearances for the first team. The majority of which have come after the 2014/15 season when injuries to Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta forced us to recall him.

Will Coquelin ever become a fantastic defensive midfielder? He’s 25, there’s still time, although I can’t imagine any drastic changes.
