Arsenal are said to be still interested in signing Goncalo Guedes with Manchester United now replacing Manchester City in the sub-editors headline bag.

The Gunners were first linked with a move for the Benfica man back in April 2015 when he was just 18 and his price tag was a laughable £40m.

The rumour returned in January, however this time it was Chelsea that Arsenal were going up against and then by the time the rumour surfaced in the summer it was Manchester United.

Over the summer, it was also claimed that Arsenal held a meeting regarding the transfer, but, as you know, nothing came of it.

By 16 September the clubs scouting Guedes had grown with Liverpool also now in the mix

Towards the end of September, more reports emerged, this time claiming that Arsenal and United were still scouting the player who had been a City target.

Inter Milan and Everton have also had their names linked.

All I really need to tell you about the teenager is that his release clause is £51m and his contract runs until 2021.

You can almost feel Wenger’s head spinning from here.
