Garth Crooks left Santi Cazorla out of his BBC Team of the Week despite him outscoring Adam Lallana according to whoscored.com and all relevant midfielder stats.

Santi picked up 8.08 and the man of the match award for the Gunners, netting from the spot in injury time to give Arsenal all the points.

Lallana received 7.67.

Also making the midfield were Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne and Tottenham’s Son Heung-Min both outscored the Arsenal man, the latter thanks to two goals against a hapless Stoke City.

Santi had 108 touches and made 79 passes with a pass success rate of 92.4%, while also scoring and making three keys passes, eight crosses, two interceptions and one clearance.

Lallana, meanwhile, had 81 touches, 81 passes with a terrible 81% success rate (I haven’t just decided to make every number 81, those are really his stats), zero key passes, one cross, no interceptions and no clearances. Just like Santi, he also found the back of the net, but that’s about the only stat he matches the Arsenal man on.

Well done, Garth. On the ball as usual.
