After scoring six goals in four appearances, if you were going to put money on one player to score to put Germany through the final of the Olympic’s football tournament, it would be Serge Gnabry.
The winger has been incredibly sharp this tournament, showing what he’s made of when he’s fit. Although he failed to score against Nigeria in the semi-final, which Germany won 2-0, he was still sharp, had a couple of decent shots saved and put through a beautiful ‘pre-assist’ for the second goal.
Germany now play the hosts Brazil in the final. Brazil beat Honduras 6-0 and will be favourites going into the gold medal match. However, you wouldn’t rule Germany out.
Here’s Gnabry’s lovely pre-assist, plus the match highlights.
