A couple of days ago, the world was struck by the news that Aaron Ramsey had bleached his hair and now, he’s had his say on the issue that’s taken the planet by storm.

The midfielder broke his silence on #HairGate (?) to explain his decision to change his previously brown barnet to white blond and in doing so resembling a slightly more rugged Eminem.

“There’s no significance to it, I just fancied a change,” he revealed.

“I’d been contemplating it for a while and just thought: ‘Yeah why not?!

“I have had a bit of stick but I don’t look at any social media things. It might make me stand out on the pitch but I already want to make an impression on the field. That is my main target to help Wales get out of the group stages and then see where we go from there.”

Well phew. Now that the Welshman has settled that, we can all rest easily in the knowledge that he dyed his hair because… he wanted to.

Aaron Ramsey is currently away training with the Wales national squad. They have one more friendly match against Sweden on the 5th June before their first match of the Euros against Slovaki. They’ve not played as a team since March so it’ll be interesting to see how they gel now that they’re back together. They now rank 26th in the world, meaning they’ve dropped two places and lost their last match 1-0 against the Ukraine.
