Arsene Wenger has missed the point in his post-match comments after we lost 3-2 to Manchester United.
The boss claimed that we shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves when praising United’s performance as they’ve still spent a lot of money and had a lot of experience in their side. In other words, he completely missed the point.
Our side was far more experienced and the weakened Red Devils squad was there for the taking. For the first time in years we were the favourites and that alone should have been enough to fire us up but instead we looked as if we didn’t care.
Wenger making excuses is not what the fans want to hear right now.
“Let’s not got overboard,” he said.
“They had a very experienced midfield and spent a lot of money.”
Come on now, Arsene. This doesn’t matter, we should have had enough experience and quality combined to win comfortably. Also, the amount of money United spent on their squad has nothing to do with our performance, which was poor at best, worrying at worst.
