Speaking to the press on Monday morning, Arsene Wenger confirmed an injury to Tomas Rosicky which will keep him out of Arsenal’s game against Southampton on Tuesday night.

The Gunners won at the weekend with Rosicky playing his first game of the season against Burnley, but he suffered a thigh injury and will have a scan on Monday, Wenger confirmed.

The boss said that everyone else who played against Burnley is available, claiming he has 22 fit players in this crucial period. He did, however, admit that two players will require assessment before they are passed fit for the game.

Clearly we don’t know who they are, but Francis Coquelin and Alexis Sanchez both played for the first time since November at the weekend and you suspect they are two of the players who will be tested. Mohamed Elneny’s debut was impressive, but his first game in over a month too.

Hopefully we have a better time out than last time against Southampton, but having everyone available is a good place to start.
