Mathieu Debuchy has lost his place in the France national side after failing to feature for Arsenal as a regular.

The right-back lost his place at the club to Hector Bellerin when a series of unfortunate injuries ruled him out for most of his debut season with the club and the Spaniard shows no signs of giving up his place.

The news that Debuchy has been omitted from the France side will be concerning to his camp, especially after he admitted that he had already begun to consider his Arsenal future when he wasn’t given his starting spot back when he returned from injury.

Added to that is the fact that he looked woefully out of form, perhaps unsurprisingly, when he was played against Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia. He has a total of 246 minutes this season.

With the Euro’s looming on the horizon, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Matt try and force a move through in January when the window opens but it’s unlikely that Arsenal will let him leave with no cover at the club.
