Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson, alongside numerous managers and members of UEFA, attended an elite coaching event recently to show their support for more respect on the football pitch.

Manuel Pellegrini was also in attendance to co-present the Premier League with Wenger.

The annual event sees the top coaches and industry professionals come together to discuss how to change our sport for the better and any issues that may have occurred. The relaxed affair isn’t just a way of showing your support, but to also put your own ideas across.

Sir Alex Ferguson, now a UEFA coaching ambassador, was there to oversee proceedings.

The rocky relationship between him and Wenger now appears to be a thing of the past, and both manager and ex-manager have made their respect for each other abundantly clear. They also seem to have a lot more of a relationship outside of football than we realise and, although them being best friends is a bit of a stretch, they’re obviously in contact with each other.
