Carl Jenkinson is set for a new Arsenal deal ahead of another loan move for next season.

With a number of clubs chasing Jenks’ signature and Sunderland already having an offer accepted by Arsenal, the Gunners are looking to tie down the right-back for the foreseeable future.

Unlike with Joel Campbell who was offered a new deal before being shipped out on loan in a move that seemed designed to protect Arsenal’s investment rather than anything else, Arsene Wenger has said that he sees Jenks with a future at Arsenal. Alongside Hector Bellerin and with a number of years of Premier League experience under his belt Arsenal will have two great, young defenders.

The report of a new deal comes via ESPN who are also claiming that the defender is waiting to see what options he has before deciding on where to go on loan – something we reported on earlier as well.

West Ham seem to be his preferred destination but, while they are interested, they are hesitant due to the fact Arsenal are demanding £1.5m as a loan fee for the season as well as the player’s wages being covered in full.
