With the rumours linking Petr Cech to Arsenal refusing to die down and the ones claiming David Ospina will be sold intensifying, Santi Cazorla hopes the Colombian stays at the club.

It seems very likely that Cech will sign for Arsenal for somewhere in the region of £10m – £14m depending on which reports you read while Fenerbahce are believed to be willing to pay around £3.5m – £5.5m (again, dependent on where you do your reading) to free up a spot in the squad for the Chelsea legend.

Speaking to the media in Cyprus, Cazorla has been singing the praises of his teammate.

“If you look at Ospina’s stats since coming to the Premier League,” he said, “in my opinion he is the best goalkeeper. An excellent keeper.

“He made incredible saves throughout the season. He gives immense confidence to his teammates and hopefully next season he will remain with us.”

Although I can’t speak for the confidence Ospina gives his teammates, I do have to take exception with Cazorla’s description of Ospina as the best in the league.

Over here at Cannon Towers we’re still firmly in Team Woj, but we wouldn’t mind seeing Cech coming in so the Pole can learn from him….and help us out in the meantime while Woj gets his head sorted.
