Arsene Wenger confirmed that Joel Campbell, Yaya Sanogo and Lukas Podolski will all return to the club this summer.

Of course, none of that means that they three of them will play any part in Arsenal’s new season, however that is how it’s being reported in other places.

Wenger said “We are not close to signing anybody, we have a very big squad, so we need to lose some players as well,” he said.

“We have a big squad now, we have Podolski away, Campbell, Sanogo will come back.”

He also added that the club would have to ‘lose’ some players.

If I had to guess, my money would be on Yaya being the only one still at Arsenal when the window shuts at the end of August.

Podolski is keen to see out the final year of his contract but he’s unlikely to be happy with a place on the bench, that is, after all, why he left in January.

Wenger has shown that he’s not really a big fan of Campbell, hardly using him at all and I wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t look to move him on permanently after securing his market value with a new contract before we shipped him off to Spain.

Sanogo has not enjoyed a great loan spell with Palace either. He could possibly be the most unfortunate striker around as he watches goal after goal being wrongly chalked off for a foul or offside, it did, remember, happen to him twice before he finally netted his first official goal for Arsenal.

Since joining Palace he has suffered hamstring problems and has made only 10 appearances, scoring just one goal. In total, for both sides, he has 17 appearances this season, scoring two and assisting three in just 749 minutes.

He’d still be my tip to be the only one of the three Wenger looks to keep.
