After two seasons at Arsenal, Mesut Ozil has been talking about his time at the club, the pride he feels to be in the FA Cup final for a second time, and his personal highlight of the season.

The German playermaker has had a pretty torrid time since joining the Gunners last season. His £42m price tag meant the media in general have been overly critical and more than a little unfair since he joined the Premier League.

To add insult to injury – literally – the midfielder picked up a nasty knee injury earlier this season, leaving him sidelined for months.

Since coming back, he become fitter, stronger and even more useful for the team.

Speaking recently, he said mentioned his comeback, saying, “Of course I remember my comeback [as well], where the fans supported me so well. There have been matches where we have been outstanding as a team and I’ve contributed to that by playing well. That pleases you as a player, but the main thing is that we continue to be successful as a team.”

He also spoke about the FA Cup, revealing, “I’ve been here for two years now and we’ve reached the final of the FA Cup again. We have another chance to win a trophy and that’s something I’m really proud of.”

When it comes to personal highlights, just like on the pitch, Ozil is anything but selfish.

“The goal against Liverpool was really nice and I was delighted to score it. What made it even better was our overall performance on that day. We played some beautiful football against Liverpool – they didn’t have a chance to beat us on the day. For us it was a great game.”

Ozil is the right time of team player we need and I’m sure he can only get better from here.
